Granite State Management & Resources has Transferred the Servicing of Student Loans

As of October 21st, all open loans previously serviced by Granite State Management & Resources (GSM&R) have been transferred to a new servicer. Your loans have not been sold. The lender and holder of your loans will continue to be Granite Edvance (formerly named New Hampshire Higher Education Loan Corporation (NHHELCO)). While the lender and holder of your loans remains the same, the organization servicing your loans has changed.

What does that mean? If you have any questions or need assistance with your loans, you should contact your new servicer. Granite Edvance will not be able to assist you in most instances.

2023 Tax Information:

No later than January 31, 2024, if your loans transferred from Granite Edvance, formerly Granite State Management & Resources, in 2023, to Nelnet or Firstmark, they will mail your tax information if $600 or more in interest was paid before the transfer. Additionally, if you paid $600 or more in interest total in 2023 and Firstmark or Nelnet has an email address on file for you, they will send your tax information by email: one email showing the interest paid to Granite State and a separate email showing the interest paid to Nelnet.

If you paid your loans in full with Granite Edvance, formerly Granite State Management & Resources, you will receive your tax information by mail no later than January 31, 2024.

If you paid less than $600 in interest, no form is required, and you can contact us to obtain the amount of interest paid in 2023 or for prior years.
