Granite State Management & Resources (GSM&R) was established in 1986 to assume administration and loan servicing of federal and private student loan programs. Most recently, GSM&R became a not-for-profit federal contractor for the U.S. Department of Education to service the Federal Direct Student Loan Program*. GSM&R contracts with NH Higher Education Assistance Foundation (NHHEAF) and New Hampshire Higher Education Loan Corporation (NHHELCO) to provide financial management, data processing and personnel/facilities administration. Loan servicing experience began in 1985 with the servicing of the non-federal alternative loan program, The Alternative Loan for Parents and Students, started in 1983 by NHHEAF. Upon its formation in 1986, GSM&R acquired NHHEAF's loan servicing group. GSM&R began servicing loans available through the Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) program in the fall of 1993, which coincided with the start-up of secondary market and lending operations by the New Hampshire Higher Education Loan Corporation (NHHELCO). Providing life-of-loan maintenance and servicing for federal and private student loan programs, its nationally recognized loan servicing expertise is a source of pride. We consistently exceed industry standards. Our success is due to our tenured management team, dedicated and proficient staff and overall commitment to excellence.
